There are some things you apparently don’t mess with even during the midst of a pandemic. One of them appears to be Halloween Trick-or-treating. At least that’s the case in Los Angeles. The city’s health department recently issued an edict banning trick-or-treating this year because of Covid19 concerns but walked back that ban a bit yesterday saying now that trick-or-treating is allowed, but is not recommended. Officials in communities in our area will be deciding soon on whether or not to allow kids to go door-to-door looking for candy and treats. It seems to me that a recent trend away from door-to-door trick-or-treating in favor of larger community events will continue because the community events are easier to control and are easier to supervise in the midst of health concerns. But as is the case with so much during this strange year we’re living through, only time will tell. That’s the way I see it.
