ONE TRILLION Dollars and our Children
Word from the Congressional Budget Office that the size of our nations’ debt has topped the 1 TRILLION dollar mark for the first time in history isn’t receiving much attention in the news today at all.
We haven’t heard much talk about the rising mountain of red ink in our federal government budget in any of the speeches from President Trump or the 2-dozen or so democrats who want to be our next president, but it is a reality.
the people in charge of our government in Washington seem to me to treat the national debt like Hell.
One of those things that we think may be a problem down the road, but not of great concern today.
Regardless of your party affiliation you have to realize that some day down the road our kids and grand kids will have to deal with the cuts that will be required to make Uncle Sam’s ends meet but that day is not today.
Small wonder that when state or local governments or school officials talk about concerns of deficit spending, most people pay little attention
because they see our federal officials spending money they don’t have, like they have it.
That’s the way I see it.
