Words like these from me probably sound like a broken record but the way in which people in our community and our area respond when there’s a need to be met is truly remarkable.
The latest case in point is the Saturday night January 19th Delphos Knights Of Columbus benefit for Delphos area resident Todd Elwer. Despite more snow and wind than we’ve seen in more than a year, dozens of people turned out to raise funds to help to defray some of the expenses the Elwer family is facing as the result of a traffic crash Last September.
I would guess everyone involved was amazed at the number of people who braved some very nasty weather to buy live and silent auction items, to purchase dinners and buy raffle tickets to raise funds for the effort.
As I’ve written multiple times prior to this, I don’t think there are many places anywhere where folks will turn out to lend a hand when they have a chance.
They just proved it again this past weekend.
That’s the way I see it…
