As Corona Virus related restrictions drag on you can now add all school sponsored spring sports to a long list of activities we’ll be living with out that already includes proms, school plays dance recitals and much more. Even though many of us are having more real quality time with our families, it’s hard not to feel we’ve been robbed of things and activities we’ve come to expect would happen each spring. But before we start feeling sorry for ourselves at what we’re missing I think we should remember some special people who are dealing with isolation we would find hard to imagine. They are our loved ones and elderly friends who are locked down inside nursing homes and assisted living facilities because of the virus with in-person contact limited to staff members and other medical professionals. We’ve heard from some of them who tell us how our morning show and fun 1071.1 help them get through their day and we take that very seriously. There’s nothing at all to stop any of us from making a phone call or sending a card or letter to some one we can’t visit in person because of the virus restrictions. It would take just a few minutes to do so and I think most of us can easily find extra time to do it right now. That’s the way I see it.
