There’s little doubt that LeBron James is one of the greatest Professional basketball players ever, but the desire the Los Angeles Lakers star seems to have to stay relevant in the social media dominated world in which we live has landed “king James” in hot water with the National Fraternal Order Of Police. As a state of Ohio investigation in to the police shooting death of a 16-year old girl in Columbus was just beginning, James posted a tweet on twitter that included a picture of the police officer involved with the caption “you’re next” and a hash tag of “accountability.” The tweet resulted in strong backlash as you might have expected. James later deleted it, saying he did so because it was being used to create more hate. One might wonder what his purpose was in posting the tweet in the first place, except perhaps to keep people talking about him, something LeBron James has used quite effectively in the past to build his brand. That’s the way I see it.
