Sometimes progress is visible when new things happen or new buildings are constructed, but in the case of improving the appearance of down town Delphos I think progress is indicated by what’s coming down.
A demolition company’s crew has started to work taking down several run-down vacant buildings that have become nothing more than embarrassing eyesores on the west side of the 300 block of North Main Street.
The buildings being taken down were once home to thriving businesses but most of them have been vacant for years. Not Everyone in our community is happy that the buildings in question are being demolished, wishing instead that someone would have purchased and renovated them. The extreme cost of doing so made that out of the question. The site of the buildings will be turned initially in to green space that will I think be the site of something that’s very badly needed in Delphos.
That’s future development! That’s the way I see it.
