Taking what might be considered to be baby steps, the people responsible for some of the events that have become part of the fabric of Ohio each spring are making plans to return at least some of them. Leaders at most of Ohio’s state supported universities have announced plans to hold Spring commencement exercise’s for graduating seniors this May. Some will have limited indoor attendance. Others will be held in campus stadiums. Area school officials can be expected to decide soon whether high school proms and graduation ceremonies will be permitted this spring too. As many of us roll up our sleeves to get Coronavirus vaccines when they are available to us, all of us are keeping our fingers crossed hoping that virus case numbers will continue to decline so that last year, will be the last year in our life time that activities we have come to expect and enjoy will have to have been canceled because of a pandemic. That’s the way I see it.
