Am I wrong or does it seem that interest this year in what is the biggest sporting event in the world isn’t what has been in the past. Try as they may members of the national sports media don’t seem to have been able to get many of us excited about what will be the Super Bowl battle this Sunday between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49’ers. In this area that can’t be because we don’t have an Ohio team playing in the game. The Browns have never played in a Super Bowl and many of the people reading this right now weren’t alive when the Bengals made their last appearance. Maybe it just doesn’t seem right to be excited about a sporting event in the aftermath of the death of Kobe Bryant this past weekend but for whatever the reason I just haven’t heard much talk about the game from the people I know, and for the first time in a long time, I haven’t been asked to take part in a Super Bowl pool, for enjoyment purposes only of course. This year I’ve heard more talk about Super Bowl commercials than the game itself, and that seems odd to me. That’s the way I see it.
