Do you feel safer and more protected from the Coronavirus than you did a year ago? I’m asking because the very first doses of Coronavirus vaccines were administered in the United States a year ago yesterday. Those first shots came with a promise that getting vaccinated would mean we could get back to life as we had known it prior to the pandemic, and that the worst pandemic in more than a century could be brought under control if there was sufficient administration of the vaccines. As it turns out, as we probably should have guessed, there was a lot that vaccine promoters didn’t know a year ago. Some have even admitted so! Some of the 237 million Americans who have gotten vaccinated have developed post-vaccine cases of the virus but most health officials say those cases would have been more severe if the patients hadn’t been vaccinated. It’s also appearing increasingly likely that a booster shot will soon become part of the definition of being fully vaccinated. A year ago many of us were asking what an end to the pandemic would look and feel like. It seems that’s still a good question today That’s the way I see it.
