There are some very special people who are willing to drop what they’re doing and give up precious sleep at a moments notice that we live and work with each day.
These are the men and women who serve us as firefighters and emergency medical personnel.
Just since midnight this morning, 3 fire departments battled a barn fire and I heard EMS responders dispatched to no fewer than 6 calls for help in our area.
Whether they’re volunteers or receive some pay for what they do they expose themselves to dangerous situations while we get to rest.
We often think of firefighters and law enforcement officers as those most at risk but EMS personnel are increasingly put in harms way because folks suffering drug overdoses are often very violent when they’re administered medications that save their lives.
Hats off to these very special people
who keep us safe every day.
We appreciate the work you do.
That’s the way I see it.
