Word from Ohio Governor Mike Dewine Thursday that Ohio’s Senior citizens centers will be able to reopen September 21st will come as welcome news to a segment of our population which has perhaps suffered the most from the impact of the Coronavirus. Not only have senior citizens been determined to be the most at risk for serious complications from Covid19, the centers many depend on for congregate meals and socialization have been shuttered because of the pandemic since mid March. Seniors who’ve faced increasing isolation since them will I am sure be glad for the chance to get back together again. Center staffers have been doing their best to provide the transportation and social services their clients depend on And center operators will be the next people who will have to try to wade through a long list of requirements from the state health department that will come with reopening. Those I know will be glad to do so because they care very much for the people they serve. That’s the way I see it.
