I would describe myself as a casual sports fan. I learned to live without sports, like most of the rest of us did, when the pandemic forced the cancelation of everything from state spring tournaments to the NCAA college basketball tournaments during 2,020. I have to say it is nice to have them back even if it’s just a psychological boost to folks who don’t have a rooting interest in any of the game outcomes. I suspect extended lunch hours, and outright absence from work for the day today will be a reality as action gets in to full swing in the Men’s NCAA tournament just like it was every year until last year. Many bars and restaurants will likely be filled to their reduced capacity levels with fans wanting to watch the number of games that will be played today and tonight. Those of us looking for any sign of anything like a return to normal will be happy to know that March Madness has returned even if the number of fans allowed to watch tournament games in person is greatly reduced this year. That’s the way I see it.
