State wide CURFEW starting TODAY
We are just hours away from the imposition of what as far as I know will be the first ever state wide curfew in Ohio. With a few exceptions, Ohioans are being told we should stay in our homes each night between 10:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M. for 3 weeks starting tonight. Governor Mike DeWine imposed the curfew earlier this week in hopes of slowing the spread of the Coronavirus by reducing late night person-to-person contact. As has been the case with all or most of the mandates issued in Ohio since the start of the pandemic, compliance with the curfew mandate will have to be largely voluntary. . There aren’t nearly enough people with authority to enforce a curfew in a state with more than 11 million 600 thousand residents. There are questions as well over who has authority to do so. Mask wearing, social distancing, frequent hand-washing and now the state wide curfew will, the health experts say, help to slow the Covid19 spread that’s plaguing our state. But, choosing whether or not to comply still remains something that’s up to us as individuals. That’s the way I see it.
