These days it seems there is at least 1 story each week which leaves me wondering just what someone was thinking, or how someone might have thought one idea or another is a good one. The latest such story comes from our friends across the border in Canada. The Canadian Broadcasting Company reports Walmart of Canada has pulled a holiday sweater from it’s website offerings that featured a depiction of Santa appearing like he was ready to snort Cocaine. Walmart of Canada tells the CBC that the sweater in question was produced by a 3rd party vendor and it was pulled immediately after social media users began reposting images of the sweater. Walmart of Canada says such a sweater doesn’t correctly reflect the company’s family-oriented values, and I guess you’d call that an understatement. I’m left to wonder how such an item made it’s way on to the Canadian website operated by the worlds largest retailer in the future. I’ll bet there’s a new system of checks and balances to keep such a thing from happening again. That’s the way I see it.
