Taco Tuesday…OSU and tweets
Word today that the U. S. patent office has rejected a bid by Los Angeles Lakers star and Ohio native LeBron James to copy write the term “Taco Tuesday” marks the second similar setback in a week in efforts to place restrictions on how a phrase or word can be used and who should get paid when it is.The Ohio State University’s much publicized and equally unsuccessful attempt to copy write the word “the” as in “The” Ohio state University recently met with a similar thumbs down. While it might seem that the Buckeyes and James are losers, that’s not the case at all. They generated lots of publicity on social media just for their copy write requests and I’m pretty sure that’s what the attempts were designed to do. These days it’s all about tweets, retweets and clicks.
That’s the way I see it.
