I find it ironic that the latest well known figure to find out just how venomous Twitter users can be, is the very CEO of the social media network Jack Dorsey.
He tweeted about one of my least favorite posting subjects, eating food, over the weekend, bragging about the ten percent discount he’d gotten using an app.
It wasn’t the discount, or the app that prompted hundreds of hate-tweets against him, but rather the fact that he ate at Chick-Fil-A.
Responders blasted his apparent lack of concern about gay rights issues, pointing out that the restaurant chains CEO, is an opponent of same-sex marriage.
Dorsey later tweeted that he’d forgotten that, and then issued a Twitter apology for being so insensitive.
Apparently, even if you head one of the most successful companies in the world, you have to be careful about where you dine.
Or at least you need to be quiet about a choice that might offend someone else.
That’s the way I see it.
