Ok I’ll admit it! As I’ve gotten older I’ve payed more attention than I once did do obituaries. I know I’m not alone because I’m told that most people who still get a newspaper each day do so to read them. I’m struck by how many times an obituary reads that his or her greatest joy was spending time with his or her family. I guess I would presume that that is often the case, or hope it is. It’s seldom that you read that someone’s greatest joy came from a sports team or some other facet of life that often consumes us. I’m not one for giving advice but if you find your greatest joy being around those you love, spend a minute or two in the coming days telling them. No need to wait until it’s too late. That’s the way I see it.
