The 1970’s and Knippen Chrysler dodge Jeep Ram in Delphos
An effort we had the privilege to help to promote and to participate in Wednesday is an example of one of the many reasons that I’ve resisted the temptation to try another profession or leave this market for a radio job elsewhere since the mid 1970’s. Santa Claus joined Phil Austin and me for a live broadcast from Knippen Chrysler dodge Jeep Ram in Delphos to help them promote an effort they’ve hosted for several years. The response from the community and the area to their 2,022 toy donation drive to benefit the Delphos Community Christmas project has been overwhelming as it always has been. Donors have filled vehicles at the dealership with new unwrapped toys, several loads of which have already been delivered to the volunteers who are hard at work again this year to bring a brighter Christmas to needy families in the Delphos City School district. Some have been individual toy donations. At least 2 guys have made major donations. I won’t mention either of them by name because if I did they’d probably never talk to me again. The generosity that’s been shown will benefit more than 200 children in nearly 100 local families this year. Donations of new unwrapped toys and cash for the Christmas project will be accepted at the dealership through Tomorrow. On behalf of every one at Knippen Chrysler, and all of us at Fun 1071 I’d like to say a heart felt thank you to everyone who has or will contribute. That’s the way I see it.
