The Koz and the IMPACT he has had throughout Ohio…..
Word that high school football teams from as many as 70 schools will be wearing helmets supporting our friend and colleague Vince Koza when they take to the field this Friday night is just the latest sign of community support being shown for a man who’s devoted his adult life to covering high school sports through out our area. Vince is battling a recent cancer diagnosis and is under going treatment in Columbus. Since long before anyone playing high school sports today was born, Vince used the podiums provided on WLIO television and since 2,007 on 931 The Fan promoting all high school sports, and interviewing their participants and coaches and his work is obviously very much appreciated. What many don’t know is that Vince has also been a long-time supporter of the work of the American Cancer society and a host of other charitable causes. The teams and their fans participating in the helmet salute join the rest of us in hoping for a successful recovery and many more years of being the voice of local sports. That’s the way I see it.
