It’s hard to imagine being prohibited from attending a major league baseball game, a high school or college football game or rock or country concert this year because of the aftermath of the Corona Virus pandemic, but I’m one of those people who never imagined that preparing for a flight at an airport would include taking my shoes off, emptying my pockets and passing through a metal detector until after the 911 terror attacks. During his daily press conference yesterday Ohio Governor Mike DeWine said allowing large crowds to get together would be the last thing that would happen when pandemic related restrictions are lifted. Even when attendance is permitted I suspect there will be people who will think once, twice or 3 times about spending time in a packed stadium with thousands of other people. Call me the guy who tries to find the positives in most situations, but once stadium gates are again open to us it is at least possible that the ridiculous prices we’re expected to pay to attend a concert a college or professional game just might come down, at least a little. That’s the way I see it.
