Just when I thought a jury’s conviction and separate guilty please from 2 formerly close associates might cause our nations most followed social media user to back away from the constant barrage of posts we’ve come to expect, President Trump is at it again.
This time he’s taking aim at ESPN, urging those who support him to send emails to the network condemning their decision to stop televising the national anthem during their upcoming Monday Night Football game broadcasts.
Whether it’s a decision by the folks who run ESPN to attempt to minimize the impact on ratings of National Anthem protests, or just to make time for commercials from advertisers who want their messages aired prior to kick-off, our President calls it a “surrender to the politically correct mob.”
The fact is that CBS hasn’t broadcast the national anthem from games it airs for many years, and Fox only airs the anthem on special occasions like the Super Bowl.
It seems to me that the National Football League has an image problem that won’t go away, whether or not you see the National Anthem this season.
That’s the way I see it.
