My perception of the people in the front offices at the National Football League, who I admit I’ve never met, is that they perceive themselves as the smartest people in any room.
Much of what the league has done over the years has turned to gold to the point that, despite it’s recent ratings and public relations setbacks, pro football is acknowledged by most people to be the most popular sport in America.
However, the person (s) that made out the schedule for prime time Thursday Night NFL games have dropped a giant egg with tonights’ game between the Raiders and the 49’ers.
Between them, the 2 once prominent NFL franchises have been able to muster 2 wins.
If either had any pre-season playoff hopes, they seem to have gone into the toilet.
And it’s my belief the ratings for tonight’s’ game will go down the toilet as well.
I doubt their will be to many of even the most hardcore NFL fans watching tonight, and wouldn’t be surprised at all if old Andy Griffith Show reruns get better ratings than the game.
I DO know for sure that I won’t be paying any attention to it.
That’s the way I see it.
