I woke up this morning really glad that I woke up this morning- And real glad that I am not a U. S. Senator. I know the 100 men and women who represent us in the Senate enjoy 6 figure salaries, get to take tax payer trips to exotic spots all over the world and take advantage of health care and life-time retirement benefits the rest of us can only dream of. But if I had to sit through proceedings like the first day of the Trump Impeachment trial yesterday I’m sure I would have been caught on camera dosing off. I listened to a couple of hours of the proceedings yesterday and what I heard was speaker after speaker talking and talking and reading pages of speeches carefully crafted for them by speech writers as if there was a chance they might convince someone on the other side of the impeachment issue that their opinion was the correct one. I doubt there are more than 2 or 3 senators who haven’t already decided how they’ll vote when the trial concludes sometime next month. In the mean time the process will drone on before an American people who I think are growing increasingly tired of the whole thing and just wish it would end soon. That’s the way I see it.
