Coverage this week of the report that 2 people who had taken a first Coronavirus vaccine in Great Britain had developed a serious reaction have me thinking there must be some ratings or revenue benefit to keeping the hysteria surrounding the virus at a fever pitch. Some of the reports I’ve heard make it sound like any negative reaction to any vaccine is a surprise. Brits who’s grandparents survived 3 years of nightly bombing raids by German war planes seem to be coming unglued. There is little doubt that some people who take a corona virus vaccine when one is available in our country will have a negative reaction to it. My questions though is what is the alternative? Do we want to spend the rest of our lives wearing masks, afraid to get closer than 6 feet from another person, afraid to attend a family get-together or spending time in virtual isolation in our homes? Do we want to continue to be prevented from visiting our relatives who live in long-term care facilities? I know I don’t! That’s the way I see it.
