Tonight is trick or treat night in Delphos and if the national weather service has it right, it could be a lot like many of the trick or treat nights I remember as a kid, in that it will be chilly and well could be rainy. I don’t remember ever letting a little nasty weather dampening our enthusiasm as my sisters and I went door-to-door collecting grocery bags filled with candy and treats back in the day. I do remember promising myself as I was growing up that I would never again wear a poorly fitting mask over my face, but of course the pandemic changed all of that. As I remember when we were growing up it seemed nearly every house in Delphos was a place that you could find Halloween treats, but for any of a number of reasons that’s changed lately. It does seem that most youngsters who still go door-to-door in Delphos these days are accompanied by one or more of their parents. That was certainly not the case when we enjoyed trick or treat activities on our own as kids. That’s the way I see it.
