Twitter-borne attacks were blowing up Thursday about the Vanderbilt basketball player who mistakenly fouled a Northwestern player, essentially giving the Wildcats a victory in the first round of the men’s college basketball tournament.
The overwhelming response has me thinking it’s time to come up with a new word to describe the people who use the popular social media site to rip almost any one for almost anything.
“Twidiots” seems about as good as any other I can come up with…”TWIDIOTS”
True it was, by all accounts, a mistake that came at a very very bad time for Vanderbilt.
But it was just a mistake, and the mistake-maker owned up to it in a post-game interview.
What more do we want?!?
I’ve long believed that there’s nothing worse than the powerless who obtain power!
Twitter seems to empower people with nothing better to do to try and come up with the most outrageous comments in hopes they’ll get “re-tweeted.”
I suppose it’s impossible to demand an IQ test be passed prior to making a tweet, but social media might be a better place if that were the case.
That’s the way I see it!
