WE ORDER you to not have FUN and we are cutting your funding……
You’ve been hearing since you were a child that decisions have consequences, and there’s no better proof of that than the announcement from Ohio’s Governor Mike DeWine Tuesday that state funding for public schools, higher education institutions and Medicaid recipients will be cut immediately by 775 Million dollars.. These are funds that local schools and government entities and agencies had planned to use to balance their budgets by the end of June, and result from big revenue losses the state is seeing because of decisions by state officials to try to control the spread of the Corona Virus. The cuts reflect losses in revenues to the state just in March and April and could be followed by further reductions over the next 2 months. Unlike the federal government which can just print money to send out stimulus and CARES act payments to Americans with little apparent concern for the growing size of the national defecit, States like Ohio have to balance their budgets each year and the impact of the newly announced cuts will be felt by local schools, local governments and other entities and agencies which depend on cash from Columbus. Ultimately, in one way or another, they will effect most or all of us too. That’s the way I see it.
