I think it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall on Wednesday when Cleveland Browns Defensive End Myles Garrett appeals his indefinite NFL suspension. I’m wondering what defense it is that he will use to try to get reinstated anytime soon. It’s reported that he will present his case before NFL appeals officer James Thrash. Garrett’s over-the-top attack in the closing seconds of last Thursday night’s Browns win over the Steelers was caught on camera for all the world to see and reaction to it has been overwhelmingly negative even among the most die-hard of Browns fans. Garrett did release a very well-worded apology within hours of the incident but in an era when player safety is among the league’s highest stated goals I think it’s pretty likely that Garrett will be watching games from the bench or in front of a TV set for quite some time to come. That’s the way I see it.
