When is enough.. ENOUGH….
A poll taken prior to Governor Mike DeWine’s Monday orders concerning a partial resumption of business activities in our state, showed a majority of Ohioans supported the actions taken by his administration to try to control the spread of the Corona Virus. But an attempt by the governor to create a little light-hearted fun for Ohioans locked down in their homes because of his stay-at-home and business closure orders proves once again that not everyone things every idea is a good one. The Governor called for creation of a “virtual spirit week” this week kicked off with Pajama Day an invitation to those working from home to stay in their pajamas all day yesterday. The suggestion resulted in an almost immediate backlash from some Ohioans on social media who accused the governor among other things of being tone-deaf and being unconcerned about the plight of many Ohioans who’ve lost their jobs. The governor is suggesting that those taking part in the virtual spirit week which continues today with “gardening day” post photos of themselves on twitter. It’s clear that some Ohioans don’t find anything funny or spirit-building about the times we’re living in these days. That’s the way I see it.
