Most of us have bucket-lists: things we’d like to do or places we’d like to go during our lifetimes. Sadly for many, life ends before that bucket list gets empty. That will not be the case for a World War II veteran from Leesburg Florida. At the age of 92, John McCrary got to take a flight recently on a restored Boeing Spearman airplane, which is the plane that was used to train servicemen during the war to end all wars, thanks to the efforts of a non profit group called Dream Flights. The groups’ goal is to thank veterans for their service by taking them on flights on vintage airplanes. McCrary had been nominated for a flight anonymously after he was featured on a veterans day segment on the Kelly Clarkson show last year. McCrary also served our country during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. There are so many negative things one could write a blog about today, but I thought this was a story you would like to read. That’s the way I see it.
